Political / Legal Ministries

Christian Action League of NC, Inc. , 809 Spring Forest Road, Suite 1000, Raleigh NC 27609. (919) 787-0606.
Director: Mark Creech , Website: christianactionleague.net
The Christian Action League currently represents 17 Christian denominations who collectively and cooperatively address the social, ethical, moral, and legal issues which impact our lives today. We are in the General Assembly promoting legislation that is consistent with a Christian worldview.  We are on the front line combating the gambling industry and its highly paid lobbyist in their efforts to legalize gambling and to bring a state-operated lottery to North Carolina. We discourage the promotion and use of beverage alcohol and other drugs, pornography, sexual immorality and other evils that undermine our society.  We also provide education and educational materials, as well as to help communities form coalitions to battle these influences. One of our most important tasks is training, developing, and motivating Christians to be involved in the political process.

Director: Elizabeth Wickham, Website: www.lifetree.org
The LifeTree is a 23-foot frame strung with more than 4,000 pairs of baby booties, serving as a memorial and visual reminder of the almost 4,000 lives lost to abortion each day in the United States. Many of the booties, donated by mothers, grandmothers, and siblings, were given in the name of a child lost to abortion. LifeTree's original mission has been expanded into an educational effort to raise awareness throughout North Carolina about the need to protect life, especially at its earliest beginnings.

NC Family Policy Council , PO Box 20607, Raleigh NC 27619. (919) 807-0800.
Director: Bill Brooks , Website: www.ncfpc.org
Founded in 1992, the North Carolina Family Policy Council is a nonpartisan, nonprofit research and education organization dedicated to the preservation of the family and traditional family values. We are on the cutting edge of providing research on public policy issues that affect the family to policy makers at the state, national and local levels. After the research is done, educating members of the North Carolina General Assembly and other citizens of our state is of paramount importance. Our aim is to provide research materials and information which enables citizens and policy makers to be fully informed on the issues before them.
